Do not join a crowd that scrambles to grab what looks like to them something promising huge profits. If you do, you will return fleeced. With everyone now throwing money into the real estate business, there will be more new houses built than can be sold in three years time. Think before you leap.
(This is a translation of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Wan Ko Yeshe Norbu’s philosophical sayings about worldly matters originally written in Chinese.)
Below is not an official translation, just for reference
When everyone rises up together to compete for the same profit, you must never blindly follow the crowd. If you see people rushing headlong into something and you simply follow suit, you will inevitably end in failure. For example, at present many people are eager to engage in real estate development at present. Because there are far too many real estate companies and countless high-rise buildings being constructed, this has resulted in an oversupply of housing. Buyers are few, and many buildings stand empty and ownerless, with no one willing to purchase them. This causes investors to suffer heavy losses.
This statement was written two years ago, when Master Yiyun Gao (H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III) had already reminded people that entering real estate development should be approached with the utmost caution, and that one must never act blindly or rush in with the crowd. Therefore, whatever you do, you must carefully assess the timing and the direction of its development before taking action.
